ENVIRONMENTAL AWARDS
for Beautification & Environmental Excellence

Asheville has won Tree City Award for 24 years.

Award candidates can be nominated by anyone and you are encouraged to help us recognize outstanding environmental improvements in Asheville and Buncombe County. The nominee can be a business, organization or individual.

The awards are for big and small projects, as long as they have a significant impact on the environment.

Environmental Excellence Awards are presented semi-monthly.

Once a year a Quality Forward Hall of Fame Award is presented for the project considered to be the most outstanding improvement in the last year.

There is an annual Awards and Volunteer Recognition program at the Annual Meeting in late Fall.

The New Morning Gallery has received recognition for collecting rain water off the roof in a cistern system. The water is contained for use in the exquisite gardens that surround the Biltmore Village art and craft store. Owner John Cram continues to plant and grow outstanding flowers in every available nook in the tree islands around the brick building.
